CLAIMS HANDLING

All claims arising out of risks covered by the THE BRITISH EUROPEAN & OVERSEAS P&I Policy should immediately be notified to the Manager DGS Marine Management Services (DGS). Relying on their own expertise, the claims handler concerned will take care of all necessary steps and secure the position of the Assured.

The earlier DGS is informed / involved, the better a potential claim can be avoided or at least defended!This applies in particular where high value or sensitive cargoes (e.g. project cargo, heavy lifts, steel) are involved which might lead to a potentially large loss.

We act quickly and efficiently in order to minimize costs – benefiting you, the assured, and  BE&O. Your statistic is not charged with unreasonable claims costs and our Claims Handling Team provides a client-orientated, transparent and professional service.

 The Claims Handling Team of THE BRITISH EUROPEAN & OVERSEAS P&I consists of

• Master mariners holding full foreign going shipmaster’s licences with extensive seagoing experience on various types of worldwide trading vessels.
• Lawyers specialised in international transport and insurance law. From previous employment and experience, inter alia as P&I correspondents, they are all familiar with the worldwide handling of all kinds of P&I as well as other shipping cases.
• Surveyors and experts familiar with all types of P&I claims who evaluate and handle claims if it is necessary for their defence.
