red alert 'rules'
To avoid or at least reduce claims we have constructed certain “Rules” for our Assureds, which we kindly ask you to follow, namely but not limited to:
- In case of incident and possible claims please contact the Manager (DGS Marine) as soon as possible to avoid any difficulties regarding preservation of evidence concerning extent and cause of loss, which is of immense importance for the defence of later recovery claims
- If you intend to transport high value or sensitive cargoes as steel, project cargo etc. please arrange for a preloading survey and/or inspection of loading and lashing. In such a case please contact the Managrs in good time.
- Please assure your masters remark/clause Bs/L – if necessary. The signing of incorrect Bs/L can lead to unforeseen consequences.
- Reefer containers should be, if possible prior loading, checked as to their reefer condition. In doing so it should be noted that the temperature – units C° or F° – are not confused
- Stowaways – please ensure that at sailing of the vessel there are no unwanted persons on board, which are not part of the crew. Mind the ISPS-Code! According to experience it takes extensive and complex inspections and efforts to repatriate the stowaways
- Please ensure that in case of an incident or claim no information is forwarded to Third Parties (excluding persons appointed by us such as surveyors, correspondents, lawyers), especially in the presence of persons not authorised by the Managers.
